When I started this journey in 2018, I only hoped to be where I am now. Sometimes I still pinch myself because I can’t believe that this is what I get to do full time-as my career!
God’s fingerprints are all over this business. When we made the decision for me to go full time, I was working a job that was stealing my joy. Being a creative person, who thrives on spontaneity and sunshine, I felt like I was stuck in a box. I started praying about it, and said, “Ok God, I’m going for it. Help. Please.” Boy did he. That year (2020) this business exploded and it’s been full steam ahead ever since.
Your experience is so important to me. The friendship that I made with the bride during the first wedding that I ever shot is what really made me fall in love with weddings. It was more than just images. I found myself decorating the arch, hyping up the bridesmaids, crying during their first dance. You know why their gallery was so stunning? Because they were in the moment. Living their best day. You can feel how happy and in love they were when you look at their gallery. That was it for me. The secret sauce for amazing images. The experience. Being comfortable. Being present.
My shooting style is a blend of documentary and editorial. Stepping in with gentle guidance when needed and letting those little moments unfold naturally. Leaving room for those moments to happen. We do a lot of prompts, which keeps you active and having fun. (and forgetting that the camera is even there!) We’re going to chase light and create stunning magazine worthy images too though. It all depends on your level of comfort of course.
I consider my editing style to be true to life, but vibrant, and glowy. I also tend to throw in some trendy moments. High contrast flash, a little blur, if you’re down for some fog, and lighting, we can really make some magic happen.
We will talk inspiration, create a timeline, and have a plan to make sure that you receive your dream photos and video. Things get off track from time to time, and that’s where my experience shines. We pivot! iykyk :)
If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I hope that my work resonates with you and that you can tell I love what I do.
I can’t wait to meet you.
